Director/Teacher -  Cheryl Hoover

In 1995 Cheryl Hoover was led to begin Northampton Christian Preschool as a mission for Northampton United Methodist Church. She has been blessed to work with hundreds of
children and their families over the years.

Mrs. Hoover graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Family and Child Development. She is a graduate of the Child & Family Leadership Exchange of Summit County. For twelve years she was a member of the Woodridge School Board, where she served as board president. She also volunteers as a CASA/GAL in Summit County Juvenile Court working with children who have been placed in foster care.

Cheryl and her husband Kim have lived in the area their entire lives. After raising their four children they now have the great joy of being Gaga and Grampy to a growing brood of grandchildren.

When not engaging children at the art table or leading them in the Bunny song, Mrs. Hoover enjoys yoga, reading and her nightly walk.

Teacher - Mrs. Dawn

Mrs. Dawn joined our program several years ago. She has a degree in Psychology from Ursuline College, has worked with developmentally delayed adults and also ran a family day care for many years.

She and her husband have two college students and a high schooler. All three of her children are NCP alumni.  Mrs. Dawn plays the piano and guitar, enjoys sewing, walking her dog and cheering her children on in all their endeavors!

Lori Samerdak - Teacher

Mrs. Lori has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Management and a Masters in Business Administration. She was later led to teaching, and has completed numerous professional development hours. She has been with us for over 10 years.

Mrs. Lori helps our children explore science concepts by conducting an Ecology Week each spring. She also shares her love for plants and animals, experiences she enjoyed while growing up on a farm.

Raising three boys and a daughter, Mrs. Lori and her husband David are constantly on the go. Outside of school she can be found driving her children to numerous activities, cheering them on from the bleachers and applauding wildly at dance recitals.

Rachel Burger -Teacher

Mrs. Rachel came to us upon graduating from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. She also completed a post-graduate certificate in Organizational Management from Malone University. During college, Mrs. Rachel was a team leader at Jump Start, a program that prepares disadvantaged children for Kindergarten.

Mrs. Rachel’s patience and calm voice have been nurturing our kiddos for ten
years. She and her husband Charles are raising two adorable little girls. In the
rare moments she isn’t teaching or playing at the park with her own children, Mrs.
Rachel enjoys reading and yoga.

Lisa Seiple – Teacher

We are grateful to have Mrs. Lisa’s 25+ years of experience as a pubic/private school teacher, Title I Coordinator and home-school mom. Mrs. Lisa has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and a Master’s in Reading Specialization, along with course work in gifted and special education. Mrs. Lisa has been with our program for five years.

She and her husband Clay are enjoying a (somewhat) empty nest after launching their three children into college. They often spend weekends visiting the Columbus area and enjoying time with their adult children.

Outside of preschool Mrs. Lisa enjoys reading, mentoring young women, and cooking and hosting dinners for family and friends.

Julie Eizember – Teacher

Mrs. Julie joined our staff after sending her daughter through our program. Before “retiring” to become a mom, Mrs. Julie ran a Before and After School program. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.

Mrs. Julie, her husband Ed, and their two girls are season ticket holders at Playhouse Square. They’ve also been known to road trip for the best ice cream in northeast Ohio.

Nora Davis - Substitute

Mrs. Davis began teaching at NCP when our doors first opened in 1995.

Originally trained as a nurse, Mrs. Davis brought a heart for children and
commitment to ministry to our program. She previously served the church as
Children’s Ministry leader producing an amazing VBS  program year after year.

Mrs. Davis has a Child Development Associate's degree. She and Korky, her
husband of 34 years, have three grown children, three grandchildren and a
menagerie of grand-pets. Mrs. Davis is very good friends with Mickey Mouse and
visits him as often as possible. During the Christmas season she can be found
working as an elf on the Polar Express.
