This is the time of year that we talk about giving thanks for all that we have. We can think of so many things that God has given us – warm beds, clothes, shoes, food, family, friends, snuggle time, and for those that keep us safe.
Celebrating Our Veterans
As Veterans Day is approaching on November 11th, we will be celebrating our veterans. We have been talking about how they keep our country safe. Many of the children have proudly shared that they know (or live with) a veteran or active military person. The kids made the beautiful large handprint flag featured at the top of this newsletter. They have began to make small handprint flags for the church to hand out this month to our veterans, but we would also like to honor those in our preschool families that have served our country. Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you are or know someone special that we can send a small thank you flag home for your child to deliver.
Each month, the Peninsula Library Lady will come to visit us at the preschool. This month, she will be visiting on the morning of November 7th. Miss Chris is sure to bring lots of stories to help us celebrate Thanksgiving.
WE ARE THANKFUL Service Project will be kicking off on Tuesday, November 14th through Thursday, November 16th. We are looking for food items to place in our church’s Blessing Box. The following items are suggestions: cereal, applesauce, mac & cheese, peanut butter and jelly, canned meals such as Spaghetti O’s & Ravioli, and granola bars. All foods must be shelf stable and plastic jars/bottles are preferred.
We will have a grocery cart ready for donations at drop off and pickup that week. Please let us know if you have any questions.
If you know a family that is struggling or may need a little help yourself, please reach out so that we can come along side and help as your preschool family and church. Please contact the director.
Thanksgiving Feast: November 16th
On Thursday, November 16th, we will hold a Thanksgiving Feast for all of our students from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Morning students will stay for the event and afternoon students will come early. If you have an afternoon only student, please arrive around 10:50 with your student. A teacher will meet you at the main door and take your student to their classroom. Parents may start arriving and head to the gym at 10:50 as well. All three classes will make their appearance in the gym around 11:00 in festive attire and ready to entertain with a few short songs and prayer. Traditional foods with a preschool twist will be served to all the students. Parents and caregivers are invited to observe and take pictures. Please mark your calendars to attend this fun event!
Feast Volunteers Needed
Our Thanksgiving Feast is a fun event, but we can’t do it without your help. We are looking for 4-5 volunteers that would be willing to come at 10:30 to plate our feast meals for us. Please reach out to the director if you are interested in helping.
Please don’t forget that preschool will be closed the week of Thanksgiving – November 21, 22, and 23. We hope that your family has a blessed Thanksgiving. We will return on Tuesday, November 28th.
Just a reminder that tuition is due on the 15th of each month. Tuition can be paid by check, cash, or online through our website. Please let us know if you have any questions.
